Education & Awards 

Lucas Victor is a performing guitarist and composer who holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Washington, where he studied under Michael Partington.

Lucas has been the recipient of several prizes in the Northwest's premier solo guitar competition, the Northwest Guitar Festival. He has also been honored with a first prize in guitar from the Charleston International Baroque Music Competition. Lucas has studied technique and pedagogy with the world's most accomplished guitarists, including David Russell, Xuefei Yang, Jorge Caballero, Ana Vidovic, Illiana Matos, Martha Masters, Eduardo Fernandez, Marc Teicholz, and many others. At the University of Washington, he was the 2018 recipient of the Mortar Board/Tolo Foundation Scholarship for Outstanding Student in Music Performance.


Concerts, Ensembles & Recordings

In concerts, Lucas presents a variety of traditional, contemporary and rare compositions from a wide variety of styles and time periods, ranging from the music of the Renaissance to compositions by living and local composers. Lucas has also featured his own compositions and transcriptions in concerts.

Lucas currently holds a position in Mark Wilson's Seattle Guitar Orchestra.  A recent concert of note with Seattle Guitar Orchestra included playing the solo in Oleg Boyko's concerto, The Secret Life of Trees, at its world premiere at the Northwest Guitar Festival in 2023.  He was also honored to play the solo in the concerto live on Seattle radio station, Classical King FM with S.G.O.. Lucas is featured on two Albums from S.G.O. - TÁYÉWÒ (Experience Life) (2023), and Pilgrimages (2021).

Other recent concerts include guest artist performances with the Ladies' Musical Club of Seattle Public Concert Series and a collaboration with Naeim Rahmani to perform 'The Wheel,' a one-of-a-kind concert presenting new compositions by Iranian and American composers together with the Seattle Mandolin Orchestra. Lucas was also featured at Meany Hall to open the University Chorale concert Songs of the Americas, performed several times on the Intersections concert series, and gave a solo concert on the KSER.fm at the Co-op concert series in Everett, WA.

Lucas has performed many times in duet with flutist Elise Kim and has been a member of the UW Guitar Ensemble, directed by Michael Partington. He was also a member of the Seattle Guitar Ensemble, directed by Naeim Rahmani, that recorded and performed at venues such as the Queen Anne Christian Church and for Chefs Without Borders. Lucas has also been a regular accompanist for singers in masters and doctoral recitals, and at charity events such as Canciones para Puerto Rico, co-sponsored by Opera On Tap. He has also accompanied choirs including the Seattle First Methodist Choir and the Bellevue Chamber Chorus.
